So, if it was that easy, what is stopping smokers who want to quit, quit for good? It is simple- it has to do with the psychological addiction of smoking, and your relationship with cigarettes. If you've been smoking for the last 10 years, chances are you already identify yourself with cigarettes. For short, you think it is part of 'who you are' or your identity. And this is why for most people, it is hard to give up- because for them it means having to give up 'who they think are'. There are two types of ex-smokers. The first are those who force themselves not to smoke. And the other type is that group of people who have 'outgrown' smoking.
